Happily checked out of our hostel... and said goodbye in a fun way. ;)
Tour through Edinburgh (pronounced ed-in-budda) with a true Scot as our tour guide.
Tour of Edinburgh Castle and several monuments.
The Castle
"Guards" outside the castle who were more than happy to take pictures with Jaden, myself, and Kayley.
Greyfriars Bobby: This is the grave of a famous dog. His master died and sat right on his master's grave every day without fail. The people in Edinburgh knew the dog and fed him until the day he died, 14 years after his owner died.
Myself, Kahterine, Tiffany, Kayley, Jaden in front of the National Monument on Calton Hill.
Views from Calton Hill.
Views from Calton Hill.
A GIANT memorial to Sir Walter Scott- the most famous Scottish author.
Lunch (and dessert) at Bella Italia and window shopping/ souvenir shopping.
The very disappointing "Godfather." Looked and sounded good until I ate it and found no flavor.
They have Christmas shops EVERYWHERE! I think I saw 7- 10 Christmas shops during my one day in Edinburgh. I asked my tour guide why there were so many and he said, "Because Christmas comes every year." Funny.
My friends have gotten to know me to discover my love for cupcakes and wedding and pointed this dress out to me. Mom- we will have to come back to Edinburgh to buy this dress for my wedding... seriously. And then we can add sleeves to it. I love it!
Next, goodbye to Edinburgh and a drive to York through foggy green hills along the coast.
Brief tour through the city of York.
York Minster- the largest cathedral in the UK.
Walked down Shambles Street in York- where the term "gone to Shambles" comes from. The houses and shops all look like they're falling on top of each other!
Happily checked into our Holiday Inn. Amanda and I freaked out over the sight of a normal hotel room. Yes- we are definitely spoiled Americans. Ending with a girls night watching You've Got Mail. :)
Love the dress!!! Tell them to hold it for us. :)))
ReplyDeleteI want to see the next "yes" to the dress experience, I'm totally coming!!
